AGE DIVISIONS

U-6 (Ages 4-5): This recreation program is for beginning soccer players or kids who want to play without the pressure of winning. It is a non-competitive program, meaning we do not keep scores or standings. The focus is on having fun and teaching players the fundamental skills of the game.

• Teams practice 1-2 times per week, most likely at a location that is convenient for the coach.
• Teams play a nine week season, with 1-2 games a week. Games are held during the week at Susanville Ranch Park with the possibility of a game or two during the season held in Doyle. (Depending on or if there are team(s) from Herlong/Doyle area)
• Teams are formed considering area of residence, player age and experience.
• All teams are co-ed.
• Soccer shirt and socks are provided. Each player will need shorts, shin guards, and cleats.

U-10 (Ages 8 and 9): This recreation program is for players who want to play soccer without the pressure of winning. It is a non-competitive program meaning we do not keep standings. The focus is on having fun and teaching players the fundamental skills of the game.

• Teams practice 1-2 times per week, most likely at a location that is convenient for the coach.
• Teams play a nine week season, with 1-2 games a week. Games are held week days at Susanville Ranch Park with the possibility of a game or two during the season played in Westwood and/or Doyle. (Depending on or if there are team(s) from NSYS or Herlong/Doyle)
• All U-10 teams can participate in a no-standing Jamboree held on one Saturday in September.
• Teams are formed considering area of residence, player age and experience.
• Soccer shirt and socks are provided. Each player will need shorts, shin guards, and cleats.

U-12 (Ages 10-11): Though recreational in nature, we begin to add elements of competition, meaning that we keep scores and standings. There is also one tournament held on a Saturday in October.

• Teams practice 2-3 times per week.
• Teams play a nine week season, with 1-2 games per week. Games are played during the week at Lassen Community College or in Westwood if there are teams from NSYS participating in our league.
• Players will return to their last year's team if possible.
• Teams may participate in the District Cup.This event is usually held on the 3rd or 4th Saturday (maybe Sunday) in October. It could be hosted by any league in District IX. For more details see Rules and Regulations 3:07.
• Soccer jersey, shorts and socks are provided. Each player will need shin guards, and cleats.

U-14 (Ages 12-13): Though recreational in nature, this age group continues to have elements of competition such as keeping scores and standings. If there are enough players to fill 4 or more teams, this age division will play "in-house." If there is not enough teams to play "in-house," then U-14 teams will be entered into the District IX Playing League and will be considered a "traveling" team.

• "In-house" and "traveling" teams practice 2 to 3 times per week.
• Teams play a nine week season, with 1-2 games per week. In-house teams' games are played weeknights at Riverside Park. Traveling teams' games are scheduled throughout District IX by the Walt Zinko Playing League President and are usually on Saturdays.
• Players will return to their last years team if possible.
• Teams may participate in District Cup. This is usually held on the 3rd or 4th Saturday (maybe Sunday) in October and could be hosted by any league in District IX.
• Soccer jersy, shorts, and socks are provided. Each player will need shin guards and cleats.

U-16 (Ages 14-15): This program provides competitive soccer in a positive environment. It is for intermediate and advanced soccer players who enjoy the game.

• Teams practice 2 to 3 times per week.
• Teams will play in the District IX playing league. Games are scheduled by the WALT ZINKO PLAYING LEAGUE President.
• Teams participate in District Cup (Division 3) the 1st weekend in November.
• Soccer jersey and socks provided. Jerseys are to be turned in at the end of the season.

U-19 (Ages 16-18): This program provides competitive soccer in a positive environment. It is for intermediate and advanced soccer players who enjoy the game.

• Teams practice 2 to 3 times per week.
• Teams will play in the District IX playing league. Games are scheduled by the WALT ZINKO PLAYING LEAGUE President.
• Teams participate in District Cup (Division 3) the 1st weekend in November.
• Soccer jersey and socks provided. Jerseys are to be turned in at the end of the season.
